Due to track maintenance work, buses were used instead for transportation from Interlaken to Luzen.

I took the bus from the bus stop in front of Interlaken OST station to Meiringen station, then changed to a train to Alpnachstad station at the foot of Mount Pilatus.

Hotels are expensive, but I sometimes feel like staying in a single room.

It is what is called a private lodging facility in Japan, and the owner appears to live on the upper floors.

Perhaps because of this, the rooms are very clean and there are plenty of self-catering options, so the price is justified.

I left my luggage and hurried to the mountain railway station for Mount Pilatus. However, the distance between each station was within 200m, so it was easy to get there.

I bought a ticket and killed time by taking photos of the lakeside until the next train.

In the summer, I wanted to climb the mountain by getting off at the station before the stop and continuing on the hiking route.

As I was admiring the scenery for a while, I saw someone coming up from below. The footing on the snowy slope looked very rough, and it looked like it would be awful if they slipped.

After descending the mountain and returning to the hotel, we were able to eat the ingredients we bought at the supermarket and the instant noodles we had brought from Japan before getting on the bus.

While I was taking a shower after dinner, two young women from Spain arrived.

summary

  • Autumn in Europe seems to be the off-season, but there are railway construction works taking place all over the place, making it impossible to get to places by train alone, so you need to take this into consideration when planning your trip.
