Today I will take the ropeway over the peaks along the Great Aletsch Glacier, which offers different views of the glacier from the Eggishorn, Bettmerhorn, Morsfluh and Hoefluh viewpoints.

The ropeway directly connected to the Fiesch station takes you to the Fiescheralp (2,212m), where there is a terraced plateau with a steep slope and a great view of the Aletsch Glacier.

This is a terraced plateau-like area that is ideal for hiking. Take the ropeway to the Eggishorn viewpoint (2,869m), where there is a great view of the three Jungfrau mountains from the south and a large glacier.

Hike down from Fischeralp station to Bettmeralp station.

From Bettmeralp station, I took a ropeway up to Bettmerhorn viewpoint (2647m). It is located a little lower down the glacier than the Eggishorn.

I hiked down again from Bettmeralp station to Rideralp station, and then took the cable car from Rideralp station to the Moosfluh viewpoint (2333m). From Rideralp station, I walked to Rideralp Mitte station and went to Mōrel station at the foot of the mountain, then took a train to Visp station to pick up my luggage and took a bus to the end of the Saas-Fee. The hostel where I was staying for the day was less than 50 meters away, which helped me to move my luggage.

I did not go up to Hohfluh (2227m), another viewpoint located at the lower west side of the mountain, because I had time to pick up my baggage.

Hiking distance: 15.5 km

Stayed : WellnessHostel 4000 (2 nights)
