I visited the pass located in the eastern part of Grindelwald. We took the train to Grindelwald and took a bus (available from May to October) along a narrow winding road to the pass to Grosse Scheidegg (1,962 m).
The location is a mountain pass with a good view in all directions.
There is a hotel/restaurant on the pass, Meiringen to the east, Mättenberg (3,104 m) and Wetterhorn (3,692 m) to the south, the town of Grindelwald to the west, and the slopes of the First to the north.
From there, we took a hiking route down into the forest toward Grindelwald. We hiked along a slope that seemed to be the route, but in hindsight it seemed to be a slightly different route. The buses were hourly, so we hurried down to the stop where we would board the bus.
After taking a bus and a cable car to First via Grindelwald, we hiked to Bachalpsee (2,265m) and back, which we had hiked before. Unlike the last time, we saw many grazing cattle, but it was so hot that we did not see any glaciers or lingering snow.
Schreckhorn (4,078m) and Finsteraarhorn (4,274m) were beautiful in the western distance.
After arriving at the ropeway station in Grindelwald, I walked around the Grindelwaid area to the train station.
When we arrived at the station, the clouds became suspicious, and after a while we got on the train, a thunderstorm started to fall.
When I arrived at InterlakenOST, the rain stopped and I bought dinner at the coop and went home. While I was having dinner, the rain started to come down again.
We were lucky that it did not rain.
Tourists tended to be mostly Koreans, especially young people, and Arabs.
Walking distance: 18.4 Km
