As in Pontoresina, some transportation in Saas-Fee is charged separately for guests, but most of it is free of charge, so you can easily take a bus or other means of transportation.
The Saas-Fee area is a resort across the mountain from Zermatt that is also eco-friendly and gasoline-powered vehicles are not allowed.
Buses run conveniently in the absence of train service.
After breakfast, I took a bus to Saas-Grund and from there took two ropeways up to the Hohsaas viewpoint (3200m) via Kreuzboden station (2397m).
There is a restaurant at the Kreuzboden station on the way up, and there were several marmots under the terrace, which looked fat. They probably got some of the food from the restaurant's customers. (Video) From here, the Dome Mountain (4,545m) and Monte Rosa Mountain (4,634m) can be seen clearly.
I descended to the foot of the station on the way down, took a bus back to the original Saas-Fee bus stop, walked a bit, and took a cable car up to the Felskin (2,989m) station. I took a cable car to the Mitterrand Aralin viewpoint, but I had to pay extra for the cable car. The view of the Aralinhorn (4027m) and the Dome (4545m)can be seen clearly.
There is a swimming pool at the hostel where we stayed, and there are also amusement facilities for children such as zip lines and carts nearby. The room we stayed at was on the valley side with a good view of them.
