Zermatt🚊Snegga🚡Rothorn👣(7.7km,2:35)Snegga👣Tuftern and back(4.0km,1:10) [ Peak Pass Ticket 5 days ] |
The weather this time was fine and sunny, and the blue sky was beautiful. I went to the cable car station (Zermatt ZSB) (1599m) near Zermatt station to reach Sunnegga (2288m). From there we took a cable car to Blauherd (2,571m).
There is a small signboard with a marmot living there. There was a small signboard saying that marmots live there.
Since it was early in the morning, the ropeway to the Rothorn viewpoint (3,103m) was being prepared, so I boarded the ropeway as soon as it started running.
I thought about going up to the Oberrothorn (3,415m), but it looked too difficult, so I decided to hike down from there.
I walked down with the lovely Matterhorn always in sight beside and ahead of the three lakes I had visited before (Stellisee, Grindjisee, and Leisee). After reaching Sunnegga,
I walked back to Tuftern (Tuftern) and back along an almost level walking trail.
I could see a different view of the Matterhorn through the trees.
There are a number of explanatory signs for flowers blooming by the side of the path, so the walk is not boring and increases our knowledge of flowers.
Hiking distance: 21.2 Km (longest of the trip)
