The hostel where we stayed is far from the Zermatt national railway station, but close to the nearby ropeway "Matterhorn Express" station, which takes you to Zermatt → Furi → Schwarzsee (2,583 m), a hiking route to worship the north face of the Matterhorn We decided to walk to the Furi station.
After a short walk, we saw marmots standing guard, and when we went further, they fled in a herd to the meadow. I guess they also peek their faces when there are few pedestrians on the street.
On our left, we saw the spectacular North Face, with the occasional motorcycle dodging the passing traffic as we descended. Entering a forested area, the north face disappeared and all I could see was Höhbalmen (Höhbalmen) on the other side of the valley. We finally arrived at the
Houli (1867m) station after a long and tiring walk.
