From Mont Blanc, move on to Gruyères.
We visited Lake Geneva and the Queen: The Studio Experience at Montreux, a train transfer station on the way to Gruyères. I searched the premises to leave my luggage at Montreux station, but only coin lockers were available, and I could only use 9 CHF in coins. This matter is also described in the "Travel Tips" section.
This city has convenient transportation and tourist attractions, and many tourists visit this city. We walked down to the lakeside from the train station and walked along the lakeside to the Montreux Casino where the Queen Museum is located. On the way, there was a statue of Freddie Mercury, and people were taking pictures of him. I also took a picture of Château de Chillon, which was beautifully reflected on the lake, but I could not take a good picture without a telephoto lens.
Back at the station, I headed for Gruyère from Montreux, the starting point of the GoldenPass Line. This line is one of the most famous train lines from Montreux to Lucerne.
Gruyères is a very small station, and it takes about 15 minutes to get to the Gruyères castle and hotels by walking up a slope, but it was hard to carry my luggage. The hotel also served as a restaurant. I had time to walk to the Gruyères castle.
