[November 1st]

This was one of the routes I had taken several times in the past, and I had planned to take the train from Interlaken OST station to Glindelward Terminal station and then take the gondola to Männlichen.
When I arrived at Glindelward Terminal station and looked at the gondola operation map, I saw that the gondolas to Männlichen (see below) and First were out of service.
After some deliberation, I decided to go to the Eiger Glacier and then to Kleine Schaudegg, since the Eiger Express was running.
We decided to hike up to (Kleine Scheidegg) if possible.
I wondered what would happen, but I didn't realize that the gondolas and other attractions were out of service due to the snow and cold weather...

After returning home, I looked into it and found out that the gondola had been out of service for some reason. (How unlucky...)
I immediately bought the Eiger Express fare (I think it was CHF40) and got on the gondola.
By the way, many tourists go to Jungfraujoch station, which is the most expensive station in Europe. The fare is CHF 201, which is about 40,000 yen!
The view from the air for 15 minutes is amazing.
You can see the town of Grindelward below and the First and Grosse Scheidegg Passes on the distant hills.
After climbing for a while, you will see the Eiger mountain on the left and the Männlichen hill on the right.
If you go up further you can see Lake Falboden and Kleine Scheidegg Station.
It's so beautiful no matter how many times I see it.

Hike from Eigergletscher Station ( S ) to Wengen Station ( G ). Approximately 10km, 2.5 hours.
Although some of the snow had melted around Eigergletscher station, there was still 20cm of snow and I was worried about whether I would be able to make it down the mountain. As I was walking around the area, thinking about taking the train down, I saw a couple going down the snowy road and decided to follow them.
Since I was wearing hiking shoes, I went down carefully, one step at a time, being careful not to slip.
When we got to Lake Falboden there was almost no snow, and by the time we got to Kleine Scheidegg station the snow had melted.
On the way down, the train ascends to Jungfraujoch with Lake Falboden in the background. ➥
After about an hour of walking on the snowy road, we arrived at Kleine Scheidegg station at around 3pm, and I was worried that it would be unpleasant if we continued down the mountain in the dark.
As I was doing this, I noticed that the hiker I had passed earlier was continuing down the mountain, so I decided to hike down the mountain, considering that if it got too dark and I couldn't do anything, I would board a train at a station along the way.
I managed to make it down to a point where I could see Wengen.
It was light enough that I could see houses, so I often watched hiking videos on YouTube, so I took a video in the same way.
video ➥
Since I started filming, I've noticed people who look like three generations of parents and children, as well as young tourists, so the video isn't just about bleak scenery.

I'm glad I was able to take this photo.
Although there were a series of steep slopes, I walked to Wengen station.
From Wengen station, I took a train, bus and then another train to get back to Interlaken.
The supermarket in front of the station closed at 5pm.
summary
It is important to check the operation status of gondolas and other attractions before traveling.
